Patented air technology

Physicians recommend that students carry no more than 15% of their body weight on their shoulders and backs, yet studies show that they are lugging as much as 40% each day. The unique AirPacks® System helps students tote today’s loads more safely and comfortably. This is accomplished with a patented, ergonomic air transfer system that redistributes weight from the shoulders to the hips and lower back, promoting an upright standing position. A properly sized and fitted AirPacks pack enhances the body’s natural ability to properly carry weight. Developed with orthopedic professionals, the AirPacks System has been university tested, clinically proven and doctor recommended.

Start with a proper fit

Measure from the top of your shoulder to your waistline to determine the pack that best fits your body. Follow the steps below for a customized fit.

Step 1. Start by loading the pack with your normal amount of weight (books and other articles).

Step 2. Put the pack on. Adjust the shoulder straps at the top so that the lumbar cushion rests at the small of your back. Try a few different adjustments until you find the optimal positioning.

Step 3. If the shoulder straps pinch under your arms, release the clasps at the bottom of the straps, then adjust again at the top of the straps to reposition the lumbar cushion at the small of your back.

Step 4. Inflate (use the enclosed air pump) or deflate (unplug nozzle and squeeze) the shoulder straps and lumbar cushion as needed for comfort.
