Elbow/Forearm Support/Rehab
Choose the right Elbow support!

Elbow supports are designed for temporary relief of acute, sub-acute or chronic inflammation of the elbow. Elbow supports should only be worn during periods of activity.

Acute Elbow Conditions- Elbow injuries are classified as acute for the first 72 hours following an injury. Treatment for acute injuries should begin as soon as possible and focus on stabilization and comfort. The R.I.C.E. treatment regime (rest, ice, compression, elevation) is recommended to minimize swelling.

Ideal products for this stage of injury: Dual Comfort Elbow Support, Slip on Elastic Elbow Brace, or Dual Comfort CorPak 3" X 5"

Sub-Acute Elbow Conditions- Elbow injuries are classified as sub-acute from 72 hours to six to eight weeks after an injury. By this time, swelling is under control and the injury is well into the healing stage. During this period, elbow supports can provide important support during rehabilitation.

Ideal products for this stage of injury: Slip on Elastic Elbow Brace, Neoprene Elbow Support, Elbow Support- Universal, or Dual Comfort Elbow Support

Chronic Elbow Conditions- Chronic conditions, such as overuse syndromes and repeated injury, respond well to the use of supports. They assist weak muscles and involved tendons by providing a reassuring feeling of strength.

Ideal products for this stage of injury: Neoprene Elbow Support, Slip on Elastic Elbow Brace, Elbow Support- Universal, or Dual Comfort Elbow Support

Keep in mind that these time frames are only guidelines. Healing times may vary depending on the severity of an injury. Consult your healthcare professional to determine the best treatment plan for your injury.

Common Conditions of the Elbow:

Lateral Epicondylitis (Tennis Elbow) Inflammation of the muscles and tendons on the lateral aspect of the elbow, caused by repetitive use of the extensor muscles and the common extensor tendon. For acute injuries, look for a brace that provides moderate compression and cold therapy. For sub-acute injuries, look for a brace that offers warmth and moderate compression. For chronic injuries, look for a brace that provides maximum compression.

Recommended: Neoprene Elbow Support

Medial Epicondylitis (Golfer’s Elbow) Inflammation of the muscles and tendons on the medial aspect of the elbow, caused by repetitive use of the flexor muscles. These forearm muscles flex the fingers and wrist. For acute injuries, look for a brace that provides moderate compression and cold therapy. For sub-acute injuries, look for a brace that offers warmth and moderate compression. For chronic injuries, look for a brace that provides maximum compression.

Recommended: Dual Comfort Elbow Support-Acute or Neoprene Elbow Support- Chronic
